5-Day Bowel Detox Review
If you’ve been feeling sluggish and bogged down with life, the problem may be in your gut. At least that’s what Dr. Schulze thinks, which is why he created the 5-Day Bowel Detox.
Dr. Schulze’s 5-Day Bowel Detox is a colon cleansing program that comes with both a kit and an accompanying book. According to advertisements, this program will help you:
• Produce regular, healthy bowel movements
• Clean out dried fecal matter as well as toxins, bacteria, drug residue, and heavy metals that may be lining your stomach and intestines
• Lose weight and feel both “cleaner and lighter”
If you’ve ever thought about doing a colon cleanse, Dr. Schulze’s seems to be pretty intense. Let’s see if this program can really deliver.
Who is Dr. Schulze?
Before we even begin to analyze his bowel detox program, we need to consider who Dr. Schulze is and whether or not he’s a reliable person.
According to his personal website, HerbDocBlog.com, Dr. Richard Schulze grew up in rural upstate New York where he developed a passion for alternative medicine. Diagnosed with a genetic heart deformity at age 16 and told he had less than 4 years to live, Schulze set off to find an alternative lifestyle that would heal him. He says he succeeded, and went on to obtain a doctorate in herbology.
Of course, all of this information is obtained directly from his website. Schulze doesn’t mention the university where he got his doctorate, or any other specific personal information about himself. I couldn’t find any additional information on him, or any mention of him, anywhere else online.
I can’t say for sure, but my gut doesn’t trust Dr. Schulze. His website lacks information and the design looks unprofessional. Nevertheless, let’s see what his ideas are on a complete bowel detox.
What Does the 5-Day Bowel Detox Involve?
Because the 5-Day Bowel Detox is detailed in the book by Dr. Schulze called “Cleanse & Heal Your Body with Dr. Schulze’s 5-Day Bowel Detox”, I didn’t have access to it and can’t tell you all the details.
Equally frustrating, the 5-Day Bowel Detox kit doesn’t provide any information about the herbs involved. Since the 5-Day Bowel Detox‘s effectiveness depends on this formula, it seems dishonest to leave it out.
However, Dr. Schulze does give us some information on the structure of the program, so I can tell you about that.
For beginners, Dr. Schulze recommends using his 3-Step Herbal Program, which will likely take you a week or two instead of just 5 days.
To perform the 3-Step Herbal Program, you’re required to have at least one bowel movement a day. How you’re supposed to force this, I don’t know, but Dr. Schulze recommends it.
To start, take one capsule from Intestinal Formula #1 just after dinner. This should give you a good, complete bowel movement. You should slowly increase your dosage of Intestinal Formula #1 until you have more than one bowel movement every day, including one when you wake up in the morning.
After that, you’re ready to begin on the next step. Step 2 involves taking 10 capsules of Intestinal Formula #2 5 times a day over the next 5 days. That’s a total of 250 capsules. I don’t know about you, but that seems like a lot to me.
Step 2 also requires you to drink 16 ounces of water, herbal tea, or fresh juice immediately after your 10-capsule dosage. You’ll also take Intestinal Formula #2 Powder in 5-teaspoon doses over the next 5 days.
Step 3 involves following the “tips” on the back cover of the book. Since they don’t make the book available to people who haven’t purchased it, I can’t tell you what these tips are.
While you’re on this cleanse, you should stay away from junk food, fast food, greasy, and fatty food. You should also try to consumer more fresh fruit, vegetables, and whole grains. For a more intense experience, Dr. Schulze recommends a raw vegan cleanse.
Are Customers Happy with the 5-Day Bowel Detox?
Since we have literally no information about the ingredients in the 5-Day Bowel Detox, it might be helpful to see what customers have to say.
Surprisingly, the reviews are overwhelmingly positive. The Intestinal Formulas all carry near 5/5-star ratings on Amazon. Here’s what a few of these customers had to say:
“I suffered for years from severe constipation, bloating, and terrible stomach pains. It affected every aspect of my life in very negative ways. Traditional doctors tried everything to solve my problem, including taking out my gallbladder, but I continued to suffer. Then a rather non-traditional physician recommended Dr. Schulze’s Intestinal Formula I. I’m glad I listened to him because that recommendation changed my life. Now I’m pain free, bloat free, and constipation free. I’ve been using this product for over 8 years, and I don’t know what I would do if they ever took it off the market. It’s my lifeline to a regular life.” –M. Romigh
“What a relief! After suffering with difficulties from constipation from Candida, this is the only product that cleared me up overnight! I could fill this page with all of the products I have tried over the past year. My search is over.” –Kathleen Kalaf “Kathleen Marie”
“i am disabled.hence i need a little help every now and then….with laxatives and such……this formula is great……recommend to every one who needs a colon cleanse or just help with constipation……………..follow the label to the letter though..this stuff works…….don’t plan to go anyplace until you know how it effects your system…i give it 12,000 stars…..” —joe
The few 1/5-star reviews noted they were sent an expired product, which made them sick. This makes me nervous, since 6 different customers said they received products that expired in 2009. Despite the glowing reviews, I’m still not sold on the 5-Day Colon Cleanse.
How Much Does Dr. Schulze’s Book Cost?
Dr. Schulze’s book, “Cleanse & Heal Your Body,” comes with the 5-Day Bowel Detox kit. However, if you want to purchase it on its own, you can find it on Amazon.com where it sells for $0.01 up to $11.95.
I don’t know how much help this book will be on its own, but it may be worth checking out if you want specifics on what you’re getting into with this cleanse. After all, it’s only a penny.
How About the Bowel Detox Kit Itself?
On HerbDoc.com, you can purchase the entire kit for $64.99. Individual bottles, however, also sell on Amazon if you’re interested in just one formula.
Intestinal Formula #1 sells for $23.57, for example, while Intestinal Formula #2 is available on Amazon.com for $24.45.
This is an expensive price, but if the 5-Day Bowel Detox is as effective as past customers have said, it may be worth it. However, I’d be careful where you order since some people have had problems with expired products.
Should You Try the 5-Day Bowel Detox?
From the many glowing reviews of Dr. Schulze’s 5-Day Bowel Detox, it seems this is a product that really works—despite the lack of straightforward information on Dr. Schulze’s websites and my own doubts about his credibility.
However, I would still be careful. Even though only a small portion of customers had problems with the detox program, there were enough complaints to concern me. If you decide to order the 5-Day Bowel Detox, be careful about where you order. And, if possible, check out the book before you spend money on the cleanse itself. That way, you can better judge whether this product is right for you.
