Colon Hydrotherapy

You may have seen this in your friendly neighborhood chiropractor’s office. Colon Hydrotherapy has recently been gaining ground, and it can be administered both by a chiropractor or a practitioner specifically licensed to perform procedures such as this. It washes out the colon from below instead of having to ingest pills, drinks, etc. Many have reported extra energy, reduced bloating, reduced constipation, and more rapid weight loss.

You refrain from food intake for a few hours before the procedure, and then tubs are inserted into your rectum. They use purified, body temperature water thrust in through the tube while simultaneously using another tube to drain the colon or otherwise of any waste product. Light massage is usually given at this time, and it usually takes about 30 to 60 minutes. Some have described severe cramping while others have described relaxation. It should generally be used in conjunction with a probiotic formula. Treatments usually cost about $80 per session, and it can take a few sessions before full benefits are reached.

While a Colon Hydrotherapy program can certainly target a significant bulk of the toxins within the colon, it does not supplement some of the missing vitamins or nutrients you may lose as some oral supplements would. It is extremely expensive, and it may not actually get some of the toxins that would stick to the walls of the colon, toxins that the proper oral supplement would target and relieve your body of.

It goes without saying that the Colon Hydrotherapy program is extremely invasive and embarrassing, to say the least. It is also extremely expensive, and it doesn’t have many of the natural elements as well as nutrients that oral supplements might. Its aggressive approach is more likely to flush out good bacteria along with the bad, and it is certainly not for everyone. The results are unquestionable. But then again, you can attain the same or better results with many herbal alternatives.
